Clearwater Beach

About The Beach

There’s something about Clearwater Beach that feels like a home away from home for me. Nestled on Florida’s Gulf Coast, this sunny paradise has become my go-to escape when I need to unwind, reset, or just soak up some much-needed sunshine. Whenever life feels a little too hectic, I pack my bags and head to Clearwater, knowing it’s the perfect spot to slow down and savor the simple joys of life.

The Sand Between My Toes

Clearwater Beach is famous for its powdery white sand, and I have to say, the beach truly lives up to its reputation. Every time I step onto that soft, sugar-like sand, I feel an immediate sense of peace wash over me. There’s nothing quite like finding a spot near the shore, spreading out my towel, and letting the warm sun and cool sea breeze do their magic.

The water is almost always crystal clear, and with the gentle waves lapping at the shore, it’s perfect for a lazy swim or just wading in up to my knees, feeling the water swirl around me. It’s hard to describe the joy of floating in that calm, turquoise sea, looking up at the bright blue sky, and feeling utterly content with the world.

Sunset Magic at Pier 60

One of my favorite traditions whenever I visit Clearwater Beach is catching the sunset at Pier 60. This pier is the heartbeat of the beach, always bustling with activity—street performers, local artisans, musicians, and families enjoying the playground. As the sun begins to dip toward the horizon, the whole area comes alive with a festive vibe that’s infectious.

But the real magic happens as the sun begins to set. I find a spot on the pier or right on the beach, and I watch as the sky transforms into a canvas of oranges, pinks, and purples. No matter how many times I’ve seen it, each sunset feels like a unique masterpiece. I often find myself clapping along with the crowd when the last sliver of the sun disappears, a shared moment of appreciation for nature’s beauty.

Adventure on the Water

While Clearwater Beach is perfect for relaxation, it’s also a playground for water lovers like me. There’s so much to do! On one of my trips, I decided to try my hand at paddleboarding. It was a bit of a wobbly start (let’s just say I took an unexpected dip in the water), but once I found my balance, gliding across the calm gulf waters felt almost meditative.

Another favorite adventure is hopping on a dolphin-watching cruise. There’s a childlike thrill in seeing those playful dolphins leaping and diving alongside the boat. I also love renting a jet ski for a high-speed spin around the bay or taking a more leisurely ride on a parasail, floating above the water with the best view in town.

Discovering Local Flavor

Clearwater Beach has a fantastic food scene, and I’m always eager to dive in! For a quick bite, Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill is my spot. The vibe is super laid-back, and their grouper sandwich is legendary—fresh, flavorful, and just what you need after a day on the beach. And don’t even get me started on the smoked fish spread; it’s become a bit of an addiction.

If I’m in the mood for something a bit fancier, I’ll head to Sea-Guini at the Opal Sands Resort. It’s one of those places where every dish is a delight, and the views of the sunset over the Gulf are the perfect accompaniment to a delicious meal. I usually end my evenings with a scoop (or two) from Ice & Cream Creamery—because what’s a beach day without ice cream?

A Stroll Down Beach Walk

One of my simple pleasures in Clearwater Beach is strolling along the Beach Walk, a beautifully designed promenade that stretches along the waterfront. With its palm trees, colorful shops, and local street artists, it has this relaxed yet lively atmosphere that I adore. I love wandering through the local boutiques, picking up a souvenir or two, and stopping by one of the cafés for a quick coffee or an iced drink.

The Beach Walk is also great for people-watching. I see families building sandcastles, friends playing volleyball, and couples walking hand in hand. There’s something wonderfully comforting about being surrounded by people who are just as happy to be here as I am.

Exploring Caladesi Island (Go read our blog about Caladesi Island).

A few times, I’ve taken the ferry over to Caladesi Island State Park, just a short ride away from Clearwater. It’s one of those spots that feels like a hidden gem—a pristine barrier island with untouched nature and secluded beaches. I usually rent a kayak and paddle through the mangroves, enjoying the tranquility and the chance to spot wildlife. It’s a quiet, almost spiritual experience, a stark contrast to the vibrant energy of Clearwater Beach, and I always leave feeling refreshed and renewed.

The Joy of Doing Nothing

While there’s so much to see and do in Clearwater Beach, some of my best moments are the ones where I do absolutely nothing. Just lounging under a beach umbrella, with a good book in hand or simply closing my eyes and listening to the sound of the waves. It’s in these moments that I feel the stress and worries of everyday life melt away.

Why Clearwater Beach?

Clearwater Beach has become my sunshine getaway because it has a little bit of everything: beautiful beaches, stunning sunsets, fun adventures, delicious food, and a warm, welcoming community. Every time I visit, I discover something new and leave with even more memories to cherish. It’s a place that brings me peace, joy, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

So, if you ever find yourself needing a place to relax and recharge, I’d say give Clearwater Beach a try. Pack your sunscreen, grab your flip-flops, and come experience this Gulf Coast gem for yourself. Trust me—you won’t be disappointed.
